Earthquake? What earthquake?

My grandma says we had an earthquake today.... I have seriously NEVER felt an earthquake before..... I didn't today, I didn't last time I was in Japan (even when everyone else could, and they heard dishes rattling.... I couldn't hear the dishes....), not the one in Seattle.... Slept through all the ones in California. Seriously. I have NEVER felt an earthquake!

Anyway, did more kanji tonight. Yuutaro (I've been spelling his name wrong... Probably still am) and Nanako were being my teachers. :p They ended up getting their books and doing some work, so it became a group study. ;) It was fun though. It's a little odd being helped by a 7 year old and a 9 year old, but it's fun. I'll try to get a picture of my kanji up sometime.... I'm doing pretty good, I think. They were impressed by my "Mimi"... :p Yuutaro thought my "Yama" was good too. Gakko and Sensei are kind of hard.... But I'll work at it. I need to check what I'm doing against the JPN 102 syllabus to make sure I'm not straying too far.... I will have to take the tests after all.

Dinner was really good tonight. It helped that I was feeling a lot better than I had been these past few days.... We had oden and mochi.... I must admit I liked the mochi more.... :p Good mochi.

Also, this morning I watched some very strange pre/K shows on TV.... How can people do that job? Little kid show host-type-person.... They must have no dignity or something. To be able to dance around with preschool age children, singing about food.... And wearing a sweater that says JUMP on it (or FUN FUN).... It was kind of depressing. The sushi one was pretty hilarious though..... And in between these adults singing and dancing about food, there were these crazy shorts.... One was about a super hero.... Really super. He spent the whole time stretching with a little girl, then gave her a sticker.... Yeah. The things they do to try to get kids to exercise.... I mean, really..... And then the other one looked suspiciously like Bob the Builder, minus the people and the cat..... You know, talking construction equipment... It was crazy.

So I've come to the conclusion that Japan has THE craziest Pre/K shows ever. From what Kento and I have watched before, and what I saw this morning, it was a very easy conclusion to reach. Still waiting to catch some Inai Inai Ba....
